Backups and DR – Symantec Backup Exec, Backup to disk (SATA array), and backup to tape (Quantum tape robot), and off-site archiving.
Maintain in-house data application – This consisted of a group of database servers with a large proprietary file set for the Blue-Sky compliance application. This is a legacy application whose file system spanned multiple servers and did not follow conventional industry standards. The system required very special handling for DR, scheduled backups (open file issues), and disk maintenance. This system has an extremely high network load, with special handling of client/server connections, and timing of other maintenance activity. This system also included real-time replication via Symantec Replication Exec to VMware hosted servers.

Maintained Fax and Phone servers.

Worked with parent company to integrate local Notes mail servers in company domain.
Move of 4 very sensitive (customer ID data) servers from Boston to the parent company in Pittsburgh.
Final move of all server assets to the Pittsburgh location. Since maintenance of data integrity, and testing connections/apps, were the primary concerns; the move was in reality a large scale server replacement project. This gave us the ability to pre-test on the final equipment, and reasonable method of rolling back the move to the original equipment if required. This also included joining the parent companies Active Directory Domain.
